Drylining Quantity Surveyor (QS)
We are seeking an experienced Drylining Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. This role is suited to a commercially minded professional with a proven background in the drylining and interiors sector. Previous drylining experience is essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple drylining projects from tender handover through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of multiple drylining projects simultaneously.
- Prepare and submit applications for payment, valuations, and final accounts.
- Measure works from drawings and site information.
- Price and negotiate variations, compensation events, and change orders.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability.
- Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
- Procure labour, materials, and specialist subcontractors.
- Review and certify subcontractor applications and prepare payment notices.
- Negotiate subcontract agreements and manage commercial risks.
- Work closely with Contracts Managers, Site Managers, Estimators, and Directors to ensure projects remain on programme and within budget.
- Attend client meetings, site meetings, and commercial review meetings.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
- Prepare and negotiate final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the drylining sector.
- Previous experience managing drylining, partitions, suspended ceilings, SFS, plastering, and internal fit-out packages.
- Strong knowledge of commercial drylining systems and installation methods.
- Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to final account.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong negotiation, commercial, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial software.
