Job Title: Design & Technology and Art Teacher (Food Technology Specialism)
Location: Middlesbrough
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–3:00pm)

Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher with a specialism in Food Technology to join a secondary school in Middlesbrough. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone who is confident delivering practical and theory-based lessons and has experience working with workshop machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, with a focus on Food Technology

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons

  • Safely operate and supervise the use of large machinery and workshop equipment

  • Ensure all health & safety regulations are strictly followed in practical environments

  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a positive learning environment

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant DT/Engineering/Food Technology degree

  • Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level

  • Strong knowledge of Food Technology curriculum

  • Competence and confidence using large machinery (e.g. saws, drills, workshop tools)

  • Solid understanding of health & safety procedures in a workshop/classroom setting

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
