Dual Registered Manager – Therapeutic Children’s Residential Homes

Location: Walsall (WS2 Area)
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum + Annual Bonus Scheme

Monday to Friday working pattern with shared on-call responsibilities across the senior management team
Will be covering two, two bed EBD homes

Successful Applicant
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager within a children's residential setting
  • Must have successfully completed Ofsted registration previously and be capable of passing a Fit Person Interview
  • Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management or Level 5 Diploma in Children, Young People and Families Management
  • At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory or management position within residential childcare
  • Strong leadership, staff development, and performance management experience
  • Previous experience working with children and young people within residential childcare settings is essential
  • Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) would be highly advantageous
  • Full UK Driving Licence required
  • Confident leading multiple teams and driving service improvement across more than one home

Role & Responsibilities
  • Take overall responsibility for the leadership, management, and regulatory compliance of two neighbouring 2-bed therapeutic children's homes
  • Ensure both homes operate in line with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and development support to the Deputy Managers within each service, helping them grow in their roles
  • Drive outstanding standards of care, safeguarding, and positive outcomes for children and young people
  • Monitor quality assurance processes, care planning, staffing, and service performance across both homes
  • Lead recruitment, supervision, appraisal, and professional development of residential staff teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, external professionals, and other key stakeholders
  • Support both homes in achieving and maintaining strong Ofsted outcomes and continuous improvement
  • Participate in the senior management on-call rota, providing emergency out-of-hours support approximately one week in every five
  • Work Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, with flexibility to work additional hours where required to meet the needs of the services
