Stock Management Implementation & Staff Training

2-week on-site assignment - Contract 

The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 Business Central consultant for a focused two-week, on-site assignment to help us implement stock (inventory) management and train our factory and despatch team to use it confidently.

Sales order processing is already live within Business Central, but we have not yet implemented stock. We now need a specialist to help us bring stock into the system and, just as importantly, to upskill our staff so they can run day-to-day stock operations independently once the assignment ends.

This is a practical, hands-on role based at our despatch depot. We are looking for someone who is as comfortable working alongside operatives on the factory floor as they are configuring the system.

What you’ll do

• Configure and set up stock (inventory) management within our existing Business Central environment
• Work alongside our team to load opening stock into the system, including initial item set-up
• Deliver hands-on, practical training to our factory and despatch staff, covering:
  • Receiving stock and entering it into the system
  • Picking and despatching against live sales orders
  • Carrying out stock takes (inventory counts) and reconciling discrepancies
• Provide simple, plain-language process notes or quick-reference guides for staff to use after the assignment
• Leave the team confident and self-sufficient in managing stock by the end of the engagement

Skills & experience required

• Specialist, demonstrable expertise in Dynamics 365 Business Central inventory/stock management (item set-up, receiving, picking, despatch and stocktaking)
• Proven track record of implementing stock processes in a live Business Central environment
• Experience delivering end-user training to non-technical, shop-floor or warehouse staff
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain processes clearly and in plain language
• Confident working hands-on in a factory and despatch environment
• Available to work on-site in Suffolk for the full two-week period
