EAL Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Secondary School - Brent - September 2026 Start - Full-Time

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Brent seeking to appoint a dedicated EAL Learning Support Assistant (LSA) from September 2026. This full-time role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, linguistics students, or individuals considering a future career in education, SEN support, or pastoral care.

The Role

As an EAL Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work closely with teaching staff, the SEN/EAL department, and students to support language development, classroom engagement, and academic progress across the school.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) in lessons across the curriculum
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to help students access learning
  • Assisting with the development of students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
  • Helping to adapt classroom materials to make learning more accessible
  • Working with teachers to implement targeted language support strategies
  • Encouraging student confidence and independence in the classroom
  • Supporting students' integration into school life and the wider school community
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and feedback
  • Supporting pastoral and inclusion teams where needed
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

You should have:

  • A degree or relevant experience working with young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A good understanding of or interest in language development and EAL support

  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for education and inclusion
  • Previous experience in education, tutoring, mentoring, or language support is desirable but not essential
