Early Years & KS1 Autism Learning Support Assistant Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism and helping young learners thrive during the crucial early stages of their education?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Streatham is seeking a dedicated Early Years & KS1 Autism Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive SEND team. Working through our education recruitment agency, you will provide tailored support to pupils across Early Years and Key Stage 1 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role As an Early Years & KS1 Autism Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with Autism across EYFS and Key Stage 1.
- Support children in accessing classroom learning and structured play activities.
- Help develop communication, language, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills.
- Implement strategies and interventions recommended by the SENCO and external professionals.
- Use visual timetables, sensory resources, and structured routines to support learning and engagement.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive relationships with peers.
- Assist teachers in creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to support plans and reviews.
- Have experience working with children in Early Years, KS1, nursery, childcare, or educational settings.
- Have experience supporting children with Autism or additional learning needs, or a strong interest in SEND.
- Are patient, nurturing, adaptable, and resilient.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Are passionate about supporting children's learning, wellbeing, and development.
