Job Description
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our welcoming and supportive primary school in Plumstead. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a friendly Early Years team, supporting children within our Nursery during the school day before leading and supporting our after-school provision for Nursery-aged children.
This varied role offers the opportunity to work across both the Nursery classroom and the Nursery After School Club, providing a safe, engaging and nurturing environment where children can learn, play and thrive throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities
- Support high-quality teaching, learning and care within the Nursery, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Work alongside the class teacher and Early Years team to deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences.
- Build positive relationships with children, encouraging their confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
- Observe children's learning and contribute to assessments and learning journeys where required.
- Prepare and maintain a safe, stimulating and welcoming learning environment.
- Support children's personal care needs where appropriate.
- Lead and support the Nursery After School Club from the end of the school day until 6:15pm.
- Plan and provide fun, age-appropriate activities during after-school sessions, including creative play, outdoor learning and quiet activities.
- Ensure children's safety and wellbeing throughout the day, following safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers during collection times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide continuity of care between the Nursery and after-school provision.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- Has a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Is passionate about supporting young children's learning and development.
- Is warm, caring, patient and enthusiastic.
- Enjoys working as part of a supportive team.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can create positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Is organised, reliable and able to use their initiative.
