Smile Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and ambitious primary school in the Humberston area of Grimsby, seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Early Years specialist who is passionate about creating engaging learning experiences and giving young children the strongest possible start to their education.

The school is part of a wider education trust and has a strong focus on creating a happy, safe and welcoming environment where children and staff feel valued. Its approach places emphasis on developing confident, independent learners and providing children with the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need for the next stages of their education.

The school is situated on a green, tree-lined campus in Humberston, creating a pleasant setting for learning and outdoor exploration. Its curriculum begins in Nursery and continues through to Year 6, with a strong emphasis on curiosity, creativity, personal development and developing a love of learning.

The RoleAs an Early Years Teacher, you will play a key role in creating a stimulating, nurturing and inclusive environment where children feel confident to explore, learn and develop.

You will:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences across the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Create a warm, welcoming and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Support children's communication, language, physical, social and emotional development.
  • Use creative and play-based approaches to encourage curiosity and independence.
  • Observe, assess and track children's progress effectively.
  • Adapt activities and learning opportunities to meet individual needs.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Support children in developing the confidence, resilience and skills needed for the next stage of their education.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider school team to ensure every child receives the support they need.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with Early Years experience or a strong Early Years specialism.
  • A minimum of 6 months' UK classroom experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A creative, nurturing and child-centred approach.
  • The ability to plan engaging and purposeful learning opportunities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children in the early stages of their education.

Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
  • Ability to provide a full two years of employment and/or education references.
  • At least one reference relating to working with children.
  • References should be available during the pre-screen stage or registration appointment to support a smooth compliance process.
  • Right to work in the UK.
