Early Years Teaching Assistant – Blackpool, Lancashire
Vision for Education is recruiting for an enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a caring and inclusive primary school in Blackpool, Lancashire. This full-time Early Years Teaching Assistant role in Blackpool, Lancashire starts in September 2026 and will continue for the full 2026/27 academic year, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position in 2027 for the right candidate.

The RoleThe successful Early Years Teaching Assistant in Blackpool, Lancashire will work across both Nursery and Reception classes, supporting children as they develop the key skills and confidence needed for lifelong learning. You will work alongside experienced teaching staff to deliver engaging learning opportunities through play, while supporting pupils to achieve their individual learning goals.
The role will also involve providing additional support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, ensuring every child is able to access learning within a nurturing and inclusive Early Years environment. You will help to promote children's communication, social development, emotional wellbeing and independence through positive daily interactions.
A recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning is an essential requirement for this role. Due to the nature of the position, applications will only be considered from candidates who hold a relevant Level 3 qualification.
The successful Early Years Teaching Assistant in Blackpool, Lancashire will:
- Support learning across Nursery and Reception classrooms.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support, including for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
- Help create a safe, stimulating and engaging Early Years learning environment.
- Encourage children's personal, social, emotional and communication development.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
- Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality Early Years provision.

RequirementsTo be considered for the role of Early Years Teaching Assistant in Blackpool, Lancashire, you will:
- Hold a recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning (ESSENTIAL).
- Have experience working within an Early Years setting.
- Have experience supporting children with SEND and/or SEMH needs, or a strong understanding of inclusive practice.
- Be caring, patient and enthusiastic about supporting children's learning and development.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check registered to the Update Service.
