Earthworks Engineer in Doncaster, South Yorkshire

About the Role

We’re recruiting a Site Engineer to support a civils package. You’ll be joining the project at a critical stage, taking responsibility for on‑site engineering delivery from now through to November.

This role is ideal for an engineer confident in earthworks, cut & fill, 3D modelling, surveying, and high‑accuracy setting out.

Key Responsibilities

• Earthworks delivery — Support bulk earthworks operations, formation build‑up, levels, and QA.

• Cut & fill — Complete cut & fill calculations, verification checks, and support commercial teams with accurate data.

• 3D modelling — Produce and update 3D surface models for earthworks and machine control.

• Surveying — Carry out as‑built surveys, level checks, and monitoring using GPS and robotic total stations.

• Setting out — Set out drainage, foundations, kerbs, roads, duct routes, and earthworks profiles.

• QA & reporting — Maintain daily records, as‑built documentation, and support the site team with technical queries.

• Coordination — Work closely with site management, subcontractors, and design teams to keep the project moving efficiently.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong background in earthworks, groundworks, or remediation

• Solid understanding of bulk earthworks, cut & fill, and surveying workflows

• Able to work on a busy live site

Contract Details

• Start: ASAP

• Location: Near Rotherham

• On‑site: Through to November

• Project length: 2 years (handover phase)

• Rate: Competitive, depending on experience
