OLG Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior EC&I Engineer to work for a client based in Renfrew. This will be a hybrid role with office attendance on Tues, Wed and Thursday and working from home available on Monday and Friday. 1 year contract length as a minimum.  

Role

Senior Engineer on a Project providing technical expertise working on complex control systems and responsible for delivering a key segment of the project. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of E,C&I Team working on design packages for construction and commissioning of complex machinery
  • Capable of formulating resolutions of technically challenging and/or high-profile issues, with support from Lead Engineer, and effectively communicating with Clients and Senior Management.
  • Preparation of E,C&I deliverables including: Control System Specifications, Shut Down Cause & Effect Charts, Datasheets and Technical Requisitions for long lead items.
  • Checking of E,C&I design deliverables including Cable Block diagrams, Cable routing diagrams, Cable Schedules and termination diagrams.
  • Identifies and resolves discrepancies and divergences from original proposal / contract by raising technical queries with projects / client.
  • Capable of participating in Factory Acceptance Tests.
  • Participates in multi-discipline Engineering Design Reviews and provides all necessary E,C&I engineering input and support to close out of actions.
  • LV Electrical Power Design
  • Performs related duties as and when instructed by the E,C&I Lead Engineer.

Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BSc / BEng, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.

Desirable: 

  • CEng
  • TUV SIS Functional Safety Qualification
  • Experience of Motion Control/Servo Applications

Knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years general engineering experience focusing on E,C&I design, construction and commissioning
  • Experience of working in control systems upgrade projects – PLC, SCADA, Motion Control, Servos
  • Experience of commissioning Motor Control Centres and Control System Cabinets.
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work in a team
  • Construction and commissioning site experience
