The Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced EC&I Inspector to join a project based in Renfrew, Scotland. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in the inspection and verification of Electrical, Control and Instrumentation installations, ensuring all work is delivered in accordance with project specifications, quality requirements and industry standards.

The successful candidate will have strong Control & Instrumentation inspection experience and a proven ability to assess installations, identify non-conformances and support commissioning and handover activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out inspections of Control & Instrumentation installations, including field instrumentation, control valves, actuators, junction boxes and control panels.
  • Inspect instrument tubing, impulse lines, cable routing, cable glands and terminations.
  • Verify installations against project documentation, including P&IDs, loop drawings, cable schedules and instrument data sheets.
  • Inspect instrument wiring, earthing systems, shielding arrangements and cable segregation.
  • Support loop checks, calibration activities, functional testing and commissioning programmes.
  • Inspect PLC, DCS, SCADA and ESD interfaces where required.
  • Identify installation defects and raise NCRs or punch-list items as necessary.
  • Complete inspection reports, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and associated quality documentation.
  • Ensure all work complies with project specifications, quality standards and relevant regulations.
  • Support final inspections, handover activities and project close-out requirements.
Requirements Essential
  • Previous experience working as an EC&I Inspector, C&I Inspector or Instrument Inspector.
  • Strong background in Control & Instrumentation inspection activities.
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from P&IDs, loop drawings and technical C&I documentation.
  • Experience inspecting instrumentation systems, cabling installations, tubing systems and terminations.
  • Experience working within industrial, manufacturing, energy, process, pharmaceutical, oil & gas or other highly regulated environments.
  • Good understanding of inspection, testing and quality assurance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
Desirable
  • CompEx and/or IECEx certification.
  • Experience working in hazardous-area environments.
  • Previous involvement in commissioning and system handover activities.
  • Knowledge of PLC, DCS, SCADA and ESD systems.
