About the Role
DK Recruitment are seeking a skilled and proactive EC&I Technician to join our clients' engineering team. This is a key role responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical, control, and instrumentation systems across site to ensure maximum reliability and performance.
You’ll play a crucial part in supporting operational efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical, control, and instrumentation systems
- Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs to minimise downtime
- Maintain and calibrate instrumentation equipment
- Support PLC fault finding and basic modifications
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, and compliance standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability projects
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
Requirements
- Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of PLC systems
- Experience with control panels, sensors, drives, and process instrumentation
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- HNC/HND in Electrical, Control or Instrumentation Engineering
- Experience with SCADA or DCS systems
- COMPEX or hazardous area experience
