The Ecologist will be responsible for providing practical ecological advice and support across the project, including:

  • Undertaking and supporting ecological surveys and assessments.

  • Monitoring ecological works and construction activities.

  • Providing advice on protected species and habitats.

  • Supporting the implementation of mitigation and environmental management measures.

  • Working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and environmental specialists.

  • Contributing to ecological reporting, documentation and regulatory compliance.

  • Identifying environmental risks and providing practical solutions to minimise impacts.





The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline, together with practical experience in ecological consultancy, construction or infrastructure projects. A strong understanding of Scottish ecology, protected species legislation and ecological best practice would be advantageous. Good communication skills, a practical approach and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders are essential.
