The Role
As a Teacher of Economics, you will:
- Deliver engaging and challenging Economics lessons, primarily at Key Stage 5.
- Inspire students to develop a strong understanding of economic theories and contemporary global issues.
- Encourage independent thinking, analytical skills, and debate.
- Prepare students for examination success through outstanding classroom practice.
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and drive achievement.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.
- Support students with higher education and career aspirations in economics, finance, and related fields.
- Play an active role within the wider life of the school community.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be working towards achieving QTS.
- A degree in Economics or a closely related discipline.
- Excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for their specialist area.
- Experience teaching Economics at secondary or post-16 level, although ECTs are encouraged to apply.
- The ability to motivate, challenge, and inspire students of all abilities.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- High expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
- A commitment to raising standards and promoting academic excellence.
- A genuine passion for helping young people understand the economic forces shaping today's world.
