Senior Education Recruitment Consultant – Primary HOT DESK!

£28,000–£38,000 Basic Salary + Uncapped Commission   Bristol – Whiteladies Road, Clifton | Hybrid & Flexible Working | Parking Available

An established desk. Excellent earning potential. A different way of working.

Are you an experienced Education Recruitment Consultant looking for your next challenge? Perhaps you're working for a larger recruitment agency and would love more autonomy, greater flexibility and the opportunity to really make your mark?

Education People is looking for an experienced Senior Recruitment Consultant to take ownership of a busy, well-established Primary desk.

We're looking for someone who knows recruitment, enjoys building relationships, thrives in a busy environment and is motivated by delivering results.

What will you be doing?

You'll take responsibility for managing and growing an established Primary desk, supplying teachers and support staff to schools across Bristol and the surrounding areas.

  • Manage and grow an established desk, maintaining strong relationships with existing school clients while identifying new opportunities.

  • Fill daily supply bookings, ensuring primary schools have reliable teachers and teaching assistants when they need them, manage long-term and permanent vacancies, matching the right candidates with the right schools.

  • Develop new business, proactively contacting schools, arranging client visits and building your network.

  • Recruit and attract candidates, using job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, advertising and networking.

  • Build strong candidate relationships, maintaining regular contact, managing availability and maximising placement opportunities.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring schools and candidates receive the personal, professional service Education People is known for.

You'll have the autonomy to manage your desk, supported by an experienced and collaborative team.

Who are we looking for?

We're specifically looking for an experienced Recruitment Consultant who is confident managing a busy temp/supply desk and understands what it takes to succeed in recruitment.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Proven experience as a Recruitment Consultant, ideally within education recruitment.

  • A strong track record of managing client relationships, filling vacancies and generating revenue.

  • Confidence in business development, sales calls and winning new clients.

  • Excellent candidate attraction and resourcing skills.

  • The ability to manage a fast-paced desk and prioritise effectively.

  • A commercially focused approach with the drive to achieve and exceed targets. Have strong communication skills, resilience and a positive attitude.

Experience in education recruitment would be a significant advantage, particularly within the Primary sector, although we'll also consider successful consultants from other recruitment sectors.

What's in it for you?

We believe experienced recruiters deserve to be rewarded for their hard work, commitment and results.

  • £28,000–£38,000 basic salary, depending on experience.

  • Uncapped commission with excellent earning potential on an established desk.

  • A genuine HOT DESK, with existing clients, candidates and revenue opportunities.

  • 23 days' annual leave + bank holidays + your birthday off!

  • Up to 10 days' annual leave can be taken during school term time.

  • Flexible working, including early starts from home and a 4pm office finish.

  • One full work-from-home day per week, once established in the role.

  • Reduced school-holiday hours – 9am–3pm.

  • Parking available at our Clifton office.

  • Ongoing support from a team with over 30 years' combined recruitment experience.

  • Company pension scheme and regular team socials.

  • A friendly, supportive working environment with the opportunity to develop your career.

We do things a little differently!

At Education People, we understand that education recruitment isn't a typical 9–5 job. Early mornings are busy, schools need support at short notice, and flexibility is important.

That's why we've introduced a different way of working, designed to give our consultants greater control over their day.

Here's how it works:

  • 6:30am–9am – Start from home: Manage early bookings, speak with schools and organise supply cover from the comfort of your own home.

  • 9am–9:30am – Travel to the office: Avoid the early morning commute and arrive at our Clifton office by 9:30am.

  • 9:30am–4pm – Office-based: Focus on candidate recruitment, business development, school visits and growing your desk.

  • After 4pm – Flexibility: Leave the office at 4pm and manage any later bookings or client enquiries remotely using your company mobile.

  • Weekly WFH day: Enjoy one full work-from-home day per week, once established.

  • School holidays: Benefit from reduced working hours of 9am–3pm.

We believe in giving experienced consultants the autonomy to manage their desks, deliver results and enjoy a better work-life balance.

Why join Education People?

We're an established, independent education recruitment agency with a loyal client base, a strong reputation and a team who genuinely enjoy working together.

We're not a large corporate recruitment business. We value initiative, trust and results, and we believe in giving experienced consultants the freedom to succeed without unnecessary micromanagement.

You'll be joining a business where your contribution matters, your ideas are listened to and your hard work is recognised.
