Wokingham – Locum Educational Psychologist – EHCNA Assessments – £468.20 to £646.35 per day

As a Locum Educational Psychologist, you’ll play a key role in completing high-quality EHC Needs Assessments, helping ensure children and young people receive the right support to thrive in education. The role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with face-to-face assessments carried out in schools and settings and report writing completed from home. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Completing allocated Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs). 

  • Carrying out face-to-face assessments with children and young people in schools and settings. 

  • Producing concise, analytical and outcome-focused psychological advice within five weeks of the assessment commencing. 

  • Ensuring assessments are evidence-informed and appropriate to the child or young person's age, aptitude, culture and presenting needs. 

  • Liaising with parents, carers, educational settings and other professionals to gather relevant information. 

  • Submitting completed reports for quality assurance at least one week before the required submission date. 

  • Managing a caseload of statutory assessments independently and effectively. 

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Educational Psychology, Children's Services, education, health and other partner services.

Essential Requirements 

  • Postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology. 

  • At least two years' post-qualification experience practising as an Educational Psychologist. 

  • HCPC registration. 

  • Strong knowledge and experience of evidence-based assessment relating to children and young people with barriers to education. 

  • Excellent report-writing, analytical and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and manage statutory assessments to agreed timescales. 

  • Strong IT skills. 

  • Full clean driving licence and access to a car for work purposes. 

  • Right to work in the UK. 

  • Enhanced DBS suitable for working with children.
