Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Educational Psychologist to join our inclusive team in the North East. In this role, you will work collaboratively with children, families, educators, and other professionals to support the psychological and educational well-being of young people, promoting positive outcomes for every learner.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and provide expert psychological advice to support children's educational and emotional development.
- Collaborate with schools, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement tailored intervention plans.
- Provide training, consultation, and resources to educators and caregivers to enhance understanding of diverse learning needs.
- Promote inclusive practices that respect and celebrate diversity, ensuring equity in educational opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with professional and legal standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
- Advocate for children's rights and needs within educational and community settings.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or Doctorate in Educational Psychology or equivalent.
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or relevant professional body.
- Experience working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds, including those with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Strong understanding of educational frameworks and psychological assessment tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
Day-to-Day
- Conducting assessments and interpreting results to guide intervention strategies.
- Meeting with teachers, parents, and other professionals to discuss individual support plans.
- Delivering workshops and training sessions aimed at enhancing inclusive educational practices.
- Writing clear, detailed reports and recommendations.
- Engaging in reflective practice and supervision to continually improve service delivery.
- Collaborating with community organisations to ensure holistic support for children and young people.
