Ford Halewood Transmission Limited (FHTL) develops and manufactures transmissions with an employee workforce of circa 700 people. The Plant has a proud 60-year history as a local employer and are dedicated to manufacturing high quality products. Ford are currently investing up to £230 million at the facility to transform it to build electric power units for future Ford all-electric passenger and commercial vehicles.

Working hours:
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00-15:30 and Friday 7:00-12:30 (must be flexible to work shift patterns when required)
The role
Job Title: Maintenance Craft Worker – Effluent Process Plant
An Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance Craft Worker to maintain and repair all equipment associated with the Halewood Effluent Process Plant.
As well as maintaining the effluent plant, the candidate will also be expected to maintain the plant comfort cooling systems and assist with working in other indirect areas as and when required.
Tasks
Please note, the below listing is not exhaustive, and the tasks listed do not include a full description of all essential and non-essential responsibilities. Candidates must be aware tasks may vary in support of the plant’s future and the expectation for the successful candidate will be to apply versatility within the department.
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance actions on machines and associated equipment.
- Including all electrical, PLC, refrigeration and mechanical functions.
- Take and analyse effluent samples
- Collate data from the preventive maintenance actions and analyse information so as to plan required item replacement and overhaul.
- Overhaul machine parts wherever possible to avoid need to buy new.
- Identify and carry out machine improvement actions to improve performance / OEE improvements.
- Focus on identifying and implementation of root cause fix for breakdowns
- Schedule maintenance improvements and 5 why generation – continuous improvements.
- Kaizen activities; safety, environment, cost reductions.
To meet a number of the above requirements, the candidate will be required to complete training in the following:
- F-Gas regulations
- MEWP training
- Confined Spaces training
