We are currently recruiting for an experienced EHS Manager to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Helsinki, Finland.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Europe's leading data centre contractors, delivering some of the continent's largest and most technically advanced mission-critical projects. Reporting to the EHS Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring all works are delivered safely, in full compliance with company standards, statutory legislation, and industry best practice while driving a proactive safety culture across the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all Environmental, Health & Safety activities across the project.
  • Ensure full compliance with the company's Safety Management System and Project Execution Plan.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Construction Stage Health & Safety Plans.
  • Prepare and present EHS performance reports and safety metrics to senior management.
  • Promote a positive safety culture across all site teams and subcontractors.
  • Review and approve RAMS, Safe Plans of Action (SPA), permits to work, and safety documentation.
  • Manage COSHH assessments and hazardous substance controls.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Monitor subcontractor EHS performance and ensure adherence to project requirements.
  • Coordinate site inductions, EHS training programmes, and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure adequate PPE, welfare facilities, and safety resources are available.
  • Lead incident and accident investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain statutory inspection records and ensure compliance with EU and local Health & Safety legislation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality performance.


Requirements

  • Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing EHS on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of EU Health & Safety legislation and construction best practice.
  • Previous experience on Data Centre, industrial, pharmaceutical, or mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and large multidisciplinary construction teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and reporting skills.
  • Strong knowledge of RAMS, COSHH, permits to work, incident investigations, and compliance systems.
  • Proficient with MS Office and EHS reporting software.
  • Ability to work independently while leading a strong site safety culture.
