EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) Supervisor
Salary - £40,000-£60,000 per annum (dependant on experience)
Hours – Full time, permanent contract. Mon-Fri
We are currently recruiting for an EHS Supervisor, to be based at one of the client’s biggest sites in the North of England. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-known, globally based environmental consultancy. In this role, you will be required to supervise and lead the EHS programmes, which will include: combine site presence with strategic influence, work closely with plant leadership and central EHS functions to ensure regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement, and embed a strong, proactive safety culture across the site.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Always providing an excellent level of customer service, mainly in the assisting of insurance related queries and administrative policies.
- Provide visible, hands-on EHS leadership through regular site presence, inspections, audits, and reviews
- Ensure full compliance with UK environmental, health, and safety legislation
- Lead and maintain site EHS management systems, including ISO 14001 certification
- Develop and implement site-specific EHS strategies, objectives, and KPIs
- Deliver engaging EHS training for employees, contractors, and leadership teams
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Manage environmental permits, water discharge consents, and regulatory reporting
- Oversee waste management programs (hazardous and non-hazardous) and contractor compliance
- Drive a proactive EHS culture through coaching, engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor performance trends and recommend actions to reduce risk and improve compliance
Qualifications / Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Management, Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline
- 5–10 years’ experience in an EHS, QHSE, or safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong working knowledge of UK environmental and safety regulations (air, water, waste)
- Proven experience delivering EHS training and influencing operational teams
- Professional health & safety or environmental certification
- Experience maintaining ISO management systems
- Understanding of industrial processes and process safety
- Strong data analysis, reporting, and auditing skills
