EIC Site Supervisor

Rate: Circa £550 per day, negotiable depending on experience
IR35 Status: Outside IR35

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced EIC Site Supervisor (Electrical, Instrumentation & Control) to support the delivery of a major Energy Recovery Facility in Walsall.

This is a hands-on, site-based contract position supporting a key phase of installation, testing and commissioning. The successful candidate will take ownership of EIC activities on site, coordinating contractors and interfacing with engineering and project teams to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the project programme.

The position would suit an experienced EIC professional from an Energy from Waste, power generation, oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical or heavy process plant background who is comfortable operating within a fast-paced construction and commissioning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of site activities across electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and vendors to ensure works are delivered safely, correctly and to programme.
  • Act as a key interface between site management, contractors and engineering teams.
  • Lead and enforce HSEQ standards, ensuring activities are completed in accordance with approved RAMS and safe systems of work.
  • Monitor installation progress and proactively identify and resolve site issues.
  • Support inspection, testing, commissioning and fault-finding across EIC systems.
  • Manage defects, punch lists and completion activities through to final close-out.
  • Raise and manage site changes, deviations and technical/interface issues.
  • Coordinate interfaces between electrical, control and mechanical systems.
  • Ensure installation and commissioning activities meet required quality standards and project milestones.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics and associated project documentation.
  • Provide accurate site progress updates and reporting to the wider project team.

Experience & Technical Background

The successful candidate should have:

  • Proven experience supervising EIC works within industrial construction and/or commissioning projects.
  • Previous experience within Energy from Waste, power generation, oil & gas or a comparable heavy process environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of HV, MV and LV electrical systems.
  • Experience with industrial instrumentation and control systems, including PLC/DCS environments.
  • Experience working within live construction and commissioning environments.

Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
  • SSSTS or equivalent – essential.
  • HV Switching / HV Authorisation – advantageous.
