Electrical Assembly & Test Technician – Permanent

Location: Great Gransden, Bedfordshire
Pay: £16.00–£20.00 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Overtime: Available and paid at 1.5x

We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Assembly & Test Technician to join a well-established engineering manufacturer in Great Gransden.

This is a factory-based role involving complete machine wiring, electrical testing and fault-finding on bespoke industrial machinery.

The Role

  • Wire complete electrical systems across industrial machinery
  • Connect sensors, motors, actuators and electrical interconnects
  • Carry out functional testing and I/O checks
  • Perform electrical fault-finding during machine build and test
  • Read electrical schematics, layout drawings and BOMs
  • Work with control devices, drives, sensors and motors
  • Support machinery installations and electrical improvement projects
  • Assist with general factory electrical work where required

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in machine wiring or industrial electrical assembly
  • Confident reading electrical drawings and wiring documentation
  • Experience with control devices, sensors, motors and drives
  • Understanding of DOL and VFD configurations
  • Good electrical testing and fault-finding skills
  • High standard of workmanship and attention to detail
  • Electrical installation experience desirable
  • 18th Edition or equivalent qualification advantageous
  • PLC/HMI or industrial automation experience beneficial

Working Hours

39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

  • Monday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
  • Tuesday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
  • Wednesday: 7:30am – 5:00pm
  • Thursday: 7:30am – 5:00pm
  • Friday: 7:30am – 12:00 noon

Overtime is generally available and paid at 1.5x the standard hourly rate.
