The Opportunity
Our client, a leading M&E contractor, is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to join their London-based delivery team, supporting the construction and delivery of major data centre and mission-critical projects.
This role will focus on site-based construction management, ensuring electrical installations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, subcontractors and client teams to drive programme performance and oversee day-to-day site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all on-site electrical construction activities.
- Coordinate electrical subcontractors and direct labour teams.
- Ensure works are delivered in line with project programmes and key milestones.
- Oversee installation of critical electrical systems including:
- LV Distribution
- UPS Systems
- Generators
- Switchgear
- Containment
- Lighting & Small Power
- Earthing & Lightning Protection
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits.
- Monitor productivity and resource levels across the project.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Manage site logistics, sequencing and coordination with other trades.
- Chair daily and weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors.
- Support testing, commissioning and handover activities.
- Identify and resolve construction issues to minimise programme impact.
- Produce progress reports for Project Managers and Senior Management.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Construction Manager within an M&E contractor environment.
- Previous experience delivering data centre, mission-critical or critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical building services installations.
- Excellent knowledge of construction sequencing and site management.
- Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills.
- Ability to work within fast-paced project environments.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and commissioning processes.
Qualifications
- SMSTS.
- CSCS Black Card or Gold Card.
- Relevant electrical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent).
- First Aid at Work.
- IOSH or NEBOSH (desirable).
