Electrical Construction Manager – London – Healthcare Project

Salary: Up to £85,000 + Package

A leading Tier 1 MEP Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to join the delivery team on a major healthcare project in London.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile scheme, leading the electrical installation from construction through to commissioning and handover. You'll be joining a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of prestigious projects and genuine opportunities for long-term career progression.

The Role

Working closely with the Project Manager, you will take responsibility for coordinating and managing all electrical construction activities on site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all electrical works on site from installation through to completion.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to plan, sequence and deliver works in line with the project programme.
• Supervise site teams and subcontractors, ensuring productivity, quality and compliance at all times.
• Manage labour resources, materials and plant to ensure efficient site operations.
• Monitor progress, identify potential delays and implement solutions to maintain programme.
• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, industry regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Produce and manage short-term programmes and lookahead schedules.
• Support commissioning activities, testing and project handover.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure effective project delivery.
• Maintain high standards of site housekeeping, discipline and safety.
• Mentor junior engineers and apprentices while promoting a collaborative team environment.

About You

You will have proven experience delivering electrical building services packages on large healthcare projects and possess strong leadership and organisational skills.

Experience Required

• Previous experience as an Electrical Construction Manager on major healthcare projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services, including:
  • Power distribution
  • Lighting systems
  • Containment
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Life safety systems
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts.
• Strong understanding of programme management, quality assurance and health & safety.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach with the ability to drive projects to successful completion.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade background or a degree/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• SMSTS (or equivalent).
• Valid CSCS card and up-to-date health & safety certification.
