Electrical Contracts Manager

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to join a growing business based in St Albans, managing electrical works predominantly within the social housing sector.

This is an office-based role with regular site visits to monitor projects, support teams and ensure works are being delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard. You will work closely with the Directors and take responsibility for the operational and commercial management of electrical contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple electrical contracts across social housing projects.
  • Oversee EICR, LD1 and associated electrical works.
  • Manage and motivate engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
  • Drive productivity and encourage teams to improve start dates, programme and delivery.
  • Monitor site performance, quality, health & safety and compliance.
  • Carry out regular site visits and inspections.
  • Manage programmes, resources and project delivery.
  • Act as the company's QS / technical lead where required.
  • Take responsibility for NICEIC, PAS 2030 and other relevant compliance requirements.
  • Manage client relationships and attend meetings where required.
  • Review costs, variations, valuations and overall commercial performance.
  • Report directly to the Directors on project progress, performance and issues.
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with relevant regulations and company standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Contracts Manager or similar senior electrical management position.
  • Strong background in social housing / domestic electrical works.
  • Experience with EICRs, LD1 works and remedial programmes.
  • Relevant electrical qualifications and industry certifications.
  • Strong understanding of NICEIC, PAS 2030 and associated compliance requirements.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to understand and manage project costs.
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills.
  • Able to motivate teams and improve productivity and delivery.
  • Comfortable working between the office, sites and senior management.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a hands-on, self-delivering approach rather than purely overseeing subcontractors.

The Role

This is a key position within the business, working closely with the Directors and having responsibility across contracts, compliance, commercial management, site performance and team leadership.

The successful candidate will need to be someone who can take ownership, solve problems and drive the business and its electrical teams forward.
