Role

Opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support complex engineering projects, delivering designs from concept to detailed stage across major systems.

🛠️ What You'll Do

• Accountable for supporting design work on major fusion sub-systems, from concept through to detailed design on enhancement programs for facilities as well as for future fusion devices.
• Accountable for design aspects relating to all assigned systems / components including repair, replacement or upgrade activities.
• Deliver electrical designs, upgrades, and modifications
• Produce technical documentation (drawings, BoMs, cable schedules)
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Support design validation and collaborate with wider teams
• Apply design for manufacture and value engineering principles

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering background with Control & Instrumentation experience
• Knowledge of UK/EU electrical standards (incl. BS EN (phone number removed))
• Solid Works (Electrical) CAD experience
• Strong design, technical documentation, and communication skills
• Relevant qualification (Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent)
• Proficient in the knowledge and application of recognised drawing standards and BS EN 61082 in particular

Desirable

• BS 7671 (18th Edition)
• Experience with SolidWorks Electrical (currently used), EPLAN, or AutoCAD Electrical
