Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:

  • Deliver electrical engineering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring effective and compliant solutions
  • Design and upgrade control panels and Motor Control Centres (MCCs)
  • Develop and implement PLC and SCADA system improvements
  • Produce detailed electrical drawings, bills of materials, and associated technical documentation
  • Liaise with stakeholders to resolve technical queries and ensure project requirements are met
  • Support installation and commissioning teams throughout project delivery
  • Carry out site surveys and assist in project scoping and planning
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards across all activities
  • Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)

Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:

  • Qualified in Electrical Engineering (Degree, HNC, HND, BTEC or equivalent practical experience with design expertise)
  • Holds City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
  • Compex foundation qualification desirable, with an understanding of hazardous areas beneficial
  • Proven experience in control panel design, including drawings, BOMs, and documentation
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical installations
  • Experience with industrial network design advantageous
  • Familiar with cable calculation software such as Amtech or Trimble
  • AutoCAD experience desirable
  • Knowledge of E&I documentation (instrument schedules, P&IDs, SLDs, PLC I/O lists)
  • Experience conducting site surveys and supporting project scoping
  • Strong awareness of health and safety requirements
  • Experience producing RAMS
  • Experience within industrial or utilities environments advantageous

Located in Nottingham, this role would be commutable from Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield, Leicester.
