Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services (MEP Contractor)

💷 Day Rate: Up to £450 per day
📅 Contract: Freelance

I’m working exclusively with a well-established MEP contractor that has secured a strong pipeline of commercial and high-end fit out projects. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Design Engineer on a contract basis.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for producing high-quality electrical building services designs, supporting projects from concept through to completion, working closely with project managers, clients and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce electrical design calculations, drawings and technical specifications.
• Design power, lighting, fire alarm, data and small power systems.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers and BIM/Revit teams.
• Attend client, design and coordination meetings.
• Support project delivery through construction and commissioning.
• Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within the Building Services or MEP sector.
• Strong knowledge of commercial fit out and refurbishment projects.
• Experience using industry-standard design software.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with wider project teams.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
