The Electrical Design Engineer will contribute to the development of sophisticated electrical and electro-mechanical systems used within advanced inspection and test equipment. Working on both new product development and existing product improvements, you will be involved in everything from concept design and prototyping through to testing, documentation and product support.
  
The Electrical Design Engineer will:
  • Design electrical systems for industrial machinery and automation equipment.
  • Produce electrical schematics, panel designs, wiring documentation and Bills of Materials.
  • Support the design and integration of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Carry out electrical and electronic prototyping, testing and validation activities.
  • Maintain and improve existing product designs.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to support product development projects from concept through to release.
  
The Electrical Design Engineer will have:
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience designing electrical and electronic systems within an industrial environment.
  • Experience designing electrical panels, wiring looms and machine wiring systems.
  • Strong CAD experience, ideally using AutoCAD, Inventor, Cadstar or similar tools.
  • Good practical electrical and electronic testing skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical safety standards and industrial machinery requirements.
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
