A well-established and successful Electrical Contractor based in Moy, Co Tyrone is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join its expanding Pre-Construction team. The business delivers a diverse range of projects across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial and public sector sectors, offering the opportunity to be involved from initial concept through to project completion.

Your new role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development and coordination of electrical building services installations across a wide range of projects.Working closely with project teams, clients and other design disciplines, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, compliant and cost-effective electrical designs while supporting the wider development of the department.

  • Producing electrical building services designs in line with project specifications and client requirements
  • Preparing design drawings, schematics and technical documentation
  • Designing LV power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting and small power systems
  • Undertaking electrical calculations and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
  • Coordinating designs with mechanical services, architectural teams and other stakeholders
  • Attending client, design and coordination meetings
  • Providing technical support throughout the design and construction phases
  • Assisting with technical reports, specifications and tender documentation
  • Supporting Junior Engineers and CAD Technicians where required
  • Ensuring compliance with quality, health & safety and internal design procedures

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in electrical building services design
  • Strong understanding of LV power, lighting and building services systems
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Good working knowledge of UK electrical regulations and standards, including BS 7671
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Desirable:

  • Revit experience
  • Experience working on commercial, healthcare, education or industrial projects
