We’re working with a growing M&E consultancy in Cambridge that is looking to appoint an Electrical Design Engineer to join its expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who has already gained experience within building services and is looking for a company that will support their continued technical development and career progression.

The opportunity

You’ll be working alongside experienced mechanical and electrical engineers, contributing to the design and delivery of a wide range of building services projects.

You’ll have the opportunity to get involved from the early design stages through to project completion, gaining exposure to different clients, sectors and project requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing electrical building services designs and layouts
• Carrying out electrical calculations and technical assessments
• Preparing drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Working with senior engineers to develop project solutions
• Coordinating electrical designs with mechanical, architectural and structural disciplines
• Attending project and design meetings where required
• Liaising with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders
• Ensuring designs meet current standards, regulations and project requirements
• Supporting the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion

About you

We’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with a genuine interest in building services and a desire to continue developing their technical skills.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience within electrical building services design
• A relevant engineering qualification or degree
• Knowledge of electrical design principles and UK regulations
• Experience using relevant CAD/design software
• Good technical and analytical skills
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
