A Global Engineering Manufacturer is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team in Clevedon.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer looking to further develop their career within a highly regulated engineering environment, working on complex electrical and electro-mechanical products.
Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will support the design, development and maintenance of innovative products, creating electrical designs and documentation whilst contributing to projects from concept through to manufacture and deployment.
This role offers exposure to the full product lifecycle, providing the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on technically challenging projects within a world-class engineering and manufacturing environment.
The Electrical Design Engineer Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will support the design and development of electrical systems, sub-assemblies and product improvements while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
You will be responsible for producing high-quality designs and technical documentation, ensuring products meet specification, quality and project requirements.
Responsibilities will include:
- Electrical design and development of products, modules and sub-assemblies
- Producing electrical schematics, drawings and engineering documentation
- Cable assembly design and component selection
- Bill of Materials (BoM) creation and maintenance
- Supporting product development and engineering change activities
- Collaborating with manufacturing and cross-functional engineering teams
- Participating in design reviews and technical discussions
- Supporting verification, testing and validation activities
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice
- Supporting projects to agreed quality, cost and delivery targets
What We're Looking For
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience designing electrical systems, schematics and cable assemblies
- Experience using Electrical CAD packages such as AutoCAD Electrical or similar
- Understanding of electrical design principles and engineering documentation
- Experience creating Bills of Materials and supporting technical documentation
- Ability to work within project timescales and deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Industry Backgrounds Considered
Applications are welcomed from engineers with experience gained in Special Purpose Machinery, Industrial Automation, Robotics, Scientific Instrumentation, Capital Equipment, Medical Devices, Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear, Advanced Manufacturing and other sectors involved in the design, development and manufacture of complex electrical or electro-mechanical systems.
