Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a growing team delivering maintenance services across a major government contract. This mobile role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties, including offices, depots and laboratory environments, ensuring facilities remain safe, compliant and operational.

Job Description

We are looking for a customer-focused engineer with strong electrical maintenance experience who enjoys variety, autonomy and working across multiple sites. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical expertise on a high-profile contract, with further training and career development opportunities available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
  • Diagnose faults and complete reactive electrical repairs within agreed service levels.
  • Support wider building services maintenance, including fabric, HVAC and mechanical tasks where required.
  • Respond to callouts as part of the on-call rota.
  • Undertake contractor management activities and issue Permits to Work.
  • Ensure all electrical equipment operates to required performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all administrative requirements on time.
  • Comply with all health, safety and environmental procedures, including risk assessments and COSHH requirements.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance within Facilities Management or Building Services environments.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding, repair and maintenance experience.
  • Experience working within commercial properties.
  • Ability to complete basic building fabric repairs alongside electrical duties.
  • Computer literacy and confidence using handheld devices or PDAs.
  • Willingness to travel across the region and undertake occasional overnight stays.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Essential Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2365/2357 Level 3 with NVQ 2356 and AM2, or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation with NVQ 2356 and AM2, or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 236/2360 Part 1 & 2 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018), preferably with A2 Amendment.

Desirable Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection & Testing.
    JIB Accreditation.
  • IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
  • Security clearance or the ability to obtain clearance.
