Overview
Due to continued growth, a leading provider of Power solutions is looking to recruit an Electrical Installation Engineer to join its Projects Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrical engineer to work on the installation, commissioning and testing of generator systems, UPS equipment and associated electrical infrastructure across a range of critical industries including utilities, healthcare and public sector environments. Full product-specific training will be provided for the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test and commission generators, UPS systems and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
- Carry out cable routing, containment, panel wiring and electrical terminations.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system faults during installation and commissioning.
- Complete commissioning records, test certificates and installation documentation.
- Work closely with project managers, design engineers and customers to deliver successful projects.
- Deliver basic operational training to customers and colleagues where required.
- Mentor apprentices and junior engineers on site.
- Maintain company tools, test equipment and vehicles.
- Support project, design and service teams with technical expertise.
- Work safely in accordance with electrical regulations, industry standards and company procedures.
- Participate in occasional out-of-hours work to meet project requirements.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (Apprenticeship preferred).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- ECS Gold Card or working towards obtaining one.
- Experience in commercial, industrial or power generation electrical installations.
- Inspection & Testing qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2391) with practical experience.
- Strong fault-finding and commissioning skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills
- Qualified Supervisor (QS) experience.
- Knowledge of NICEIC compliance requirements.
- Experience supervising electrical engineers on site.
- Experience carrying out site surveys, inspections and validation testing.
- Previous experience within the Critical Power sector.
