An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a forward-thinking Further Education College in Newcastle during a significant period of growth and investment.
Based within a state-of-the-art Academy, this role offers the chance to work in a brand-new facility, equipped with industry-standard technology and modern learning environments. You will play a key role in developing the next generation of engineers and supporting the future workforce within the energy and engineering sectors.
The Role
As an Electrical Engineering Lecturer, you will:
- Deliver high-quality teaching across electrical engineering programmes
- Support learners in both practical workshop settings and classroom environments
- Contribute to curriculum development within a rapidly growing department
- Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential
- Ensure a safe and engaging learning environment in line with industry standards
Essential Requirements
- HNC/HND (Level 4/5) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven industry experience (e.g. electrical engineering, manufacturing, energy, maintenance)
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation, maintenance, and fault finding
- Understanding of health & safety regulations and safe systems of work
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Passion for supporting and developing learners
Key Technical Competencies
- Electrical principles and power systems
- Industrial installation and maintenance
- Fault diagnosis and testing techniques
- Motors, drives, and control systems
- PLCs and automation fundamentals
- Electrical drawings and schematics interpretation
- Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance
