We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a growing business delivering electrical infrastructure, utility connections, and EV charging projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with experience in HV/LV infrastructure to play a key role in securing and shaping a diverse range of projects, including EV charging developments, ICP adoption schemes, renewable energy works, and network connections.
Working closely with commercial, design, and operational teams, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially competitive tenders while ensuring projects remain deliverable and profitable.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed cost estimates for electrical infrastructure projects up to 11kV
- Review drawings, specifications, and client requirements to prepare tender submissions
- Liaise with design teams, DNOs, IDNOs, and ICPs to validate scope and pricing assumptions
- Identify and price civils, traffic management, and permitting requirements
- Manage RFQ submissions and maintain awareness of market rates and supply chain costs
- Support value engineering, cost planning, and post-tender reviews
- Assist with the continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven estimating experience within electrical infrastructure projects up to 11kV
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- Strong knowledge of ENA standards and G81 requirements
- Understanding of civils, NJUG guidelines, traffic management, and highway permitting
- Familiarity with DNO, IDNO, and ICP frameworks and connection processes
- Knowledge of EV infrastructure and/or renewable energy projects
- Experience using Windebut or ConnectGrid would be advantageous
Skills
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
- Practical understanding of project delivery and construction methodologies
