Electrical Estimator in London, Greater London

The Opportunity

I’m currently working with a major UK Main Contractor with an established in-house M&E division who are looking to appoint an Electrical Estimator to strengthen their Pre-Construction team.

The role will involve producing accurate and competitive electrical tenders, working closely with the wider Pre-Construction, Commercial and Operational teams from initial enquiry through to tender submission and project handover.

This is a great opportunity for an Electrical Estimator looking for the stability and benefits of working for a major Main Contractor, while still operating within a dedicated M&E environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed electrical estimates and tender submissions

  • Complete take-offs from drawings, specifications and tender documentation

  • Produce labour, material and subcontractor cost build-ups

  • Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations

  • Review electrical designs and identify risks, opportunities and value engineering options

  • Attend tender adjudications and handover meetings

  • Liaise with Design, Commercial, Procurement and Operational teams

  • Manage multiple tenders and work to required deadlines

  • Develop relationships with suppliers and subcontractors

  • Support tenders from initial enquiry through to project handover

Experience Required

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within Building Services / M&E

  • Strong technical understanding of electrical installations

  • Experience pricing electrical packages across a range of projects

  • Confident reading drawings, specifications and technical documentation

  • Good understanding of labour, material and subcontractor costs

  • Strong commercial awareness

  • Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to manage tenders independently whilst working within a wider Pre-Construction team
