Electrical Estimator - Commercial & Super-Prime Residential

Location: Essex | Hybrid Working
Salary: £55,000-£70,000 + Package (DOE)

We are currently working with a well-established M&E contractor specialising in the delivery of commercial and super-prime residential projects, with M&E values of up to £15m.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, they are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their pre-construction team based from their Essex office, with the opportunity for hybrid working.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor delivering technically challenging, high-specification projects across London and the South East.



Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing detailed electrical estimates and tender submissions for projects valued from £1m through to £15m M&E.
  • Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.
  • Producing accurate material, labour and subcontractor cost estimates.
  • Obtaining and analysing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities and potential commercial risks.
  • Preparing tender adjudications and presenting submissions to senior management.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the tender process.
  • Working closely with the pre-construction, design, commercial and operational teams.
  • Managing multiple tenders while ensuring deadlines are achieved.
  • Assisting with handovers to the project delivery team following successful tenders.


Candidate Requirements

  • Relevant electrical qualification essential.
  • Preferably 3+ years' experience as an Electrical Estimator within an M&E or electrical contractor.
  • Proven experience tendering electrical packages/projects valued at £1m+.
  • Experience within high-end/super-prime residential would be highly advantageous.
  • Commercial project experience would also be beneficial.
  • Experience using relevant electrical estimating/tendering software.
  • Strong understanding of electrical building services and current market rates.
  • Good commercial awareness with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
