About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Critical Power Electrical Installation Engineer to join a well-established and growing independent provider of critical power solutions.

The role is ideally suited to an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer looking to develop their career within the specialist critical power sector.

Working as part of the Projects Team, you will install, commission and test generator systems, UPS systems and associated electrical infrastructure at customer sites. Projects may span critical environments including utilities, healthcare and other essential services.

Full product and system-specific training will be provided to help you develop specialist knowledge of the critical power industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and installation documentation.
  • Install, terminate and commission electrical systems for generators, UPS systems and associated equipment.
  • Carry out cable routing, containment, termination and panel wiring in accordance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Work with project managers, clients and design engineers to deliver compliant projects.
  • Produce accurate installation, commissioning and test documentation.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and control-system faults.
  • Support fault-finding, repairs and validation testing where required.
  • Provide technical guidance to customers, colleagues, apprentices and junior engineers.
  • Maintain tools, test equipment and company vehicles to the required standards.
  • Provide technical input to Projects, Design, Service and Sales teams.
  • Work flexibly outside standard hours when operational requirements require.

About You

You will be a qualified electrical engineer with commercial, industrial or power-generation installation experience and an interest in developing specialist critical power expertise.

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • ECS Gold Card, or actively working towards obtaining one.
  • Electrical installation experience within a commercial, industrial or power-generation environment.
  • Inspection & Testing qualification, such as City & Guilds 2391, with relevant practical experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Experience of electrical supervision, site surveys, statutory inspections, fault diagnostics, system repairs, operator training, validation testing or Qualified Supervisor (QS) responsibilities would be advantageous.
