Salary: Up to £40,814 per annum + £3,000 Specialist Skills Shortage Bonus
Total Financial Package: Up to £43,814 per annum
Role Purpose
To deliver high-quality, engaging theoretical and practical training across a range of Electrical Installation programmes. This role bridges the gap between industry and education, helping full-time learners, adult students, and apprentices develop the technical competencies, safety awareness, and professional behaviors required to build successful careers in the electrical sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instructional Delivery & Assessment
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality classroom lectures and practical workshop sessions up to Level 3.
Teach core subject areas including health and safety in building services, electrical science, wiring systems, and inspection, testing, and fault diagnosis.
Assess student work, log progress, and prepare learners thoroughly for industry exams, practical assessments, and End Point Assessments (EPA).
2. Student Support & Mentorship
Provide a supportive, structured learning environment that builds learner confidence and trade-ready capability.
Conduct regular tutorials, reviews, and progress tracking to ensure students remain on target.
Model elite industry standards, professionalism, and safe working habits at all times.
3. Workshop Management & Compliance
Maintain a safe, clean, and highly professional workshop and learning environment.
Ensure absolute compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and ensuring tools/machinery are safely maintained.
Contribute to internal verification (IQA) processes and standardisation activities within the wider construction department.

📋 Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Qualifications: A recognized Level 3 NVQ qualification in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
Industry Experience: Substantial, hands-on professional background working as an electrician or electrical engineer.
Technical Currency: Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of current industry standards, wiring regulations (BS 7671), and modern trade practices.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to explain technical concepts clearly and patiently.
Willingness to Train: A genuine passion for developing others and a commitment to completing a teaching qualification on the job (fully funded by the employer).
Desirable Criteria
An active, current teaching qualification (e.g., AET, Cet, DET, PGCE).
Formally recognized Assessor (TAQA, A1) or Internal Verifier (IQA, V1) awards.
Previous experience mentoring apprentices on-site, delivering internal corporate training, or teaching within a further education setting.
