We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established electrical services organisation that delivers planned and reactive maintenance solutions across residential, public sector, and commercial environments.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Electrician to join their field-based team. This position offers a varied workload across multiple sites, with a focus on delivering high-quality repairs, upgrades, and maintenance services while maintaining excellent standards of safety and customer care.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
The Position The successful candidate will undertake a broad range of electrical maintenance activities across occupied and non-occupied properties. The role requires strong technical knowledge, an organised approach to documentation, and the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
Typical works include electrical repairs, distribution board replacements, lighting improvements, testing and fault diagnosis, small-scale installation projects, emergency systems maintenance, ventilation-related electrical works, and fire detection system servicing.
Main Duties
- Perform electrical servicing, repair, and maintenance activities across a diverse portfolio of properties.
- Install, upgrade, and replace electrical equipment including lighting systems, distribution boards, switches, and sockets.
- Investigate and rectify electrical faults, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Complete maintenance of emergency lighting systems and associated safety equipment.
- Assist with electrical elements of ventilation and fire detection systems.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information where required.
- Accurately record completed works, materials used, and job outcomes using a mobile workforce management system.
- Liaise professionally with tenants, site contacts, and internal teams.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with current electrical regulations and health and safety requirements.
- Participate in technical training and ongoing development initiatives.
- Support operational teams with additional duties when necessary.
- Practical experience in electrical maintenance and repair environments.
- Knowledge of domestic and commercial electrical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Confidence working independently and managing workloads effectively.
- Ability to understand technical documentation and diagrams.
- Good IT skills, including the use of handheld devices and mobile applications.
- Accurate record-keeping and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Dependability, professionalism, and a positive approach to work.
- Level 3 Qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Current Wiring Regulations qualification to the latest edition.
- Full UK Driving Licence with a minimum of 12 months driving experience.
- AM2 competency assessment.
- Additional experience within housing, facilities management, or public sector maintenance contracts.
