DR Newitt are currently recruiting for experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineers to join a busy engineering and facilities environment at Heathrow Terminal 5.
We have two shift patterns available, offering an excellent opportunity for qualified electricians who are looking for a stable, long-term role within a high-profile site.
Option 1 – Night Shift
- Sunday to Thursday
- 8-hour night shifts
Option 2 – Continental Shift
- 4 days on / 4 days off
- Followed by 4 nights on / 4 nights off
- 12-hour shifts
Both positions involve the same core electrical maintenance responsibilities.
The Role
As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping essential site infrastructure operating safely and reliably.
You'll be responsible for a combination of planned preventative maintenance, electrical inspections, fault finding and reactive repairs, working as part of an experienced engineering team.
You'll have the opportunity to work within a technically demanding environment where your electrical knowledge and ability to diagnose and resolve faults will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
- Complete electrical safety inspections and testing
- Respond to reactive maintenance requirements and electrical faults
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
- Support ongoing preventative maintenance programmes
- Carry out regular inspections and identify potential issues before they become failures
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using site IT systems
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety requirements and relevant legislation
- Work closely with colleagues and other site teams to maintain high levels of service
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed within agreed schedules and service levels
What We're Looking For
We're looking for experienced electrical maintenance professionals who are confident working independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
Essential:
- Recognised electrical qualification – Level 2/3 City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent
- City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection & Testing
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Previous experience in electrical maintenance
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic ability
- Comfortable working within a planned/reactive maintenance environment
- Good IT skills and the ability to accurately complete maintenance records
- Strong focus on health & safety
- Full UK driving licence
Experience within facilities management, commercial buildings, infrastructure or other complex sites would be advantageous.
