- Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical systems, installations, and equipment on a central London campus.
- Responding promptly to reactive maintenance requests and resolve faults efficiently to minimise disruption to university operations.
- Performing inspection, testing, and maintenance of systems to ensure statutory and legal compliance (e.g. emergency lighting, fixed wire testing, PAT testing).
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across a wide range of systems, including distribution boards, lighting, small power, and control panels.
- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and university safety procedures.
- Maintaining up-to-date records of all statutory testing, maintenance, and repairs using the university’s CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) app.
- Forming part of the dedicated-on call engineering team with scheduled / rota on call weeks.
- Recognised qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds / AM2/ Electrical Apprenticeship JTL or similar)
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally within a large and complex estate
- Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work independently under pressure
- Good knowledge of health and safety practices in a maintenance environment
Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based on one of Kings College London’s campuses in Central London.
