Electrical Biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Liverpool
Hours: Monday–Friday | Days

Salary: Circa £45,000 per annum

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established manufacturing business, working as part of an experienced engineering team within a busy production environment.

This is a hands-on role covering planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of automated production equipment. The position has a electrical bias, with responsibility for fault finding, breakdowns and improving equipment reliability, alongside mechanical maintenance when required.

The role is based on a single site and operates Monday to Friday, although some planned PPM work may occasionally be required outside of normal working hours with advance notice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across production equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults and respond efficiently to breakdowns.
  • Fault find on PLC and SCADA-controlled equipment.
  • Work with single and three-phase electrical systems, sensors, relays and controls.
  • Maintain and fault find on automated production, packaging and conveyor systems.
  • Carry out mechanical maintenance across hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, belts, chains and conveyors.
  • Identify recurring faults and implement improvements to increase equipment reliability.
  • Complete maintenance records and work with computer-based PPM systems.
  • Support continuous improvement and maintain high standards of health and safety.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer with additional mechanical skills and previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.

You should have:

  • Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
  • Experience with three-phase electrical systems, sensors, relays and controls.
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled automated machinery.
  • Previous planned and reactive maintenance experience.
  • Good mechanical maintenance skills, including pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, belts, chains and conveyors.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.

Experience with SCADA systems and automated production, filling, packaging or conveyor equipment would be advantageous.
