Ammanford · Permanent
📍 West Wales
💰 £41,800 - £42,000 | Three-Shift Pattern
What You'll Do:
Yolk Recruitment is working with an established manufacturing business looking to bring an Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer into its maintenance team.
This is an opportunity to join a site where engineering plays a key role in keeping production moving. You'll work across electrical and mechanical maintenance, responding to breakdowns, identifying faults and helping improve equipment reliability.
You'll be joining an experienced engineering environment on a three-shift pattern, offering eight-hour shifts without the weekend commitment associated with many continental or 4-on, 4-off roles.
Day to day, you'll:
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across production equipment
- Respond effectively to breakdowns and minimise production downtime
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance
- Fault-find on electrical systems and industrial machinery
- Support improvements to equipment reliability and site performance
- Work alongside the wider maintenance and production teams to keep the plant running safely and efficiently
What You'll Bring:
The priority is finding a capable maintenance engineer with a strong electrical background who can operate confidently within a manufacturing environment.
- Electrical bias with hands-on industrial maintenance experience
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic ability
- Experience maintaining production or manufacturing machinery
- A good working knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance
- Mechanical maintenance skills alongside your electrical expertise
- The ability to investigate faults methodically and find practical solutions
- A recognised engineering or electrical qualification would be advantageous
- A safety-conscious, dependable approach to engineering
Why You Should Apply:
If you're already working shifts but want to move away from longer continental patterns, this could offer an attractive alternative.
At circa £42,000 on a three-shift pattern, you'll have eight-hour shifts and no regular weekend working, while joining an established manufacturing operation with a dedicated maintenance function.
The recruitment process is also intended to be straightforward. Rather than dragging candidates through multiple site interviews, the hiring manager's preference is to make a decision following one main interview where possible.
For an electrical maintenance engineer based in West Wales who wants a solid salary without committing to 12-hour shifts and regular weekends, it's well worth a conversation.
