About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join a Building Services team supporting a large acute healthcare facility in Sutton-in-Ashfield. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of electrical and building engineering systems across a busy hospital environment.
Working within a specialist facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring critical electrical systems remain safe, compliant, and operational, supporting the delivery of essential healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
As an Electrician, you will:
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities to a high standard.
- Undertake inspection and testing of fixed electrical installations and portable equipment in accordance with current wiring regulations.
- Maintain and fault-find on a range of electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with statutory compliance requirements.
- Complete accurate maintenance records, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Use CAFM systems to manage and record maintenance activities.
- Participate in relevant training and continuous professional development activities.
Systems and Equipment Covered
The role will involve maintenance and repair of a broad range of building services and electrical infrastructure, including:
- Electrical power and distribution systems
- UPS systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Nurse call and communication systems
- Motors and motor control equipment
- Control panels
- Lighting and small power installations
- Portable electrical equipment
- Fixed plant and catering equipment
- HVAC systems
- Pumps and Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Plant alarms and associated controls
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience delivering PPM and reactive maintenance activities to a high standard.
- Strong fault-finding and electrical maintenance skills.
- Knowledge of current electrical regulations and testing requirements.
- Excellent record-keeping and administrative capabilities.
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritise workloads.
- Experience using CAFM systems (or similar maintenance management software).
- Relevant electrical qualifications and competency in inspection and testing.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a hospital, healthcare, or other critical environment.
- Familiarity with electrical systems supporting healthcare estates.
