Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting our long-standing client with the appointment of 2 Electrical Maintenance Technicians on a permanent basis. This is a days role, Monday to Friday working from 07.30am - 3.30pm. 

You will work within a specialist engineering team responsible for maintaining and supporting some of the largest and most technically advanced heavy industrial equipment in the UK. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, combining fault finding, preventative maintenance, inspection, repair, and continuous improvement across a diverse portfolio of electrically driven assets.

Job Description

  • Carrying out preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, fault diagnosis and repairs on critical heavy industrial equipment. 
  • Troubleshooting complex electrical and electromechanical systems to maximise equipment availability and reliability.
  • Working with electrical power distribution systems, motors, drives, control systems and industrial communications networks
  • Diagnosing faults efficiently and implementing safe, effective solutions with minimal operational disruption.
  • Reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and technical documentation. 
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and operational efficiency.

Skills Required

  • Industrial electrical maintenance within a heavy engineering environment.
  • AC and DC motors, drives and associated control systems.
  • Variable speed drives, soft starters, inverters and rectifiers. 
  • Electromechanical equipment including actuators, thrusters and solenoids. 
  • Electrical switching and protection devices. 
  • Industrial communication networks such as Profibus, Profinet, CANbus, AS-i Bus or Fibre Optics. 
  • PLC systems and industrial automation platforms.
