ELECTRICAL / MECHANICAL SITE MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 DOE

Hours: 40 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday

Chase Taylor Recruitments are currently working on behalf of a leading manufacturing business who are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical / Mechanical Site Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer with strong electrical and mechanical experience to join a well-established and growing organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production machinery, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding to breakdowns to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all site machinery and facilities are maintained to a high standard, supporting production through both reactive and planned maintenance activities.

The role requires a proactive approach to fault finding, repairs, installations and continuous improvement, ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with current legislation and industry standards.

There will also be a requirement to travel to an additional company site on a regular basis using a company vehicle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out electrical and mechanical diagnostics, maintenance and repair of production machinery and associated equipment.

• Undertake both reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.

• Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns, minimising downtime and production disruption.

• Maintain site services including electrical systems, lighting, heating and compressed air systems.

• Carry out machinery modifications, upgrades and installations as required.

• Identify faults and implement cost-effective repair solutions.

• Maintain adequate stock levels of critical spare parts.

• Perform general site maintenance duties as required.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

• Liaise with contractors, suppliers and external service providers.

• Assist with project work and machinery improvements.

• Support Health & Safety procedures and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.

• Provide clear communication and feedback regarding maintenance activities and outstanding works.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

• Multi-skilled engineer with electrical and mechanical experience.

• Good understanding of pneumatics and automated machinery.

• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.

• Confident working under pressure to minimise downtime.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

• Ability to work to deadlines and maintain high standards.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

• Previous experience within a production or manufacturing maintenance environment.

• Qualified to ONC, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.

• Strong electrical engineering knowledge.

• Experience diagnosing faults on PLC-controlled and automated machinery.

• Understanding of current legislation and regulations relating to maintenance activities.

• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• Experience within the fenestration, window, door or glazing industry.

• Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of CNC machinery and automated production equipment.
