An established M&E contractor is looking to recruit an Electrical Project Engineer to support an increasing workload across a secure and technically challenging environment in Plymouth.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Supervisor looking to take the next step into project engineering, or an existing Project Engineer seeking greater responsibility and career progression. Working on a variety of refurbishment, infrastructure and building services projects, you will play a key role in the planning, coordination and delivery of electrical works from inception through to completion.
The Role
Working closely with operational teams and clients, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of multiple electrical packages, ranging from small works through to medium-sized contracts.
Typical duties will include:
- Planning and coordinating electrical projects from award through to completion.
- Managing and overseeing site teams and subcontractors.
- Allocating labour resources and producing work schedules and programmes.
- Preparing RAMS, quality plans and project documentation.
- Monitoring project progress, quality and compliance.
- Coordinating materials, plant and subcontractors.
- Supporting client meetings and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
- Ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
- Assisting with project reporting, forecasting and programme updates.
- Supporting commissioning, handover and project close-out activities.
We are looking for a motivated and organised electrical professional with strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach to project delivery.
You will ideally possess:
- Electrical NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Previous experience within electrical installation, maintenance or infrastructure projects.
- Minimum SSSTS certification.
- CSCS Card
- First Aid at work
- Strong understanding of electrical systems including LV distribution, lighting and refurbishment works.
- Experience leading site teams or supervising electrical operatives.
- Good IT skills and confidence using project management and reporting systems.
- Excellent planning, communication and organisational abilities.
- Test & Inspection (2391 or equivalent) would be advantageous but is not essential.
